Why handcrafted soap?Quality Ingredients
Handcrafted soap can be locally produced in small batches using high quality ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, and plant based essential oils. The soaper has control over what goes into the soap and can customize it according to their needs.
No synthetic detergents or foaming agents
Did you know that most major brands of soap you can buy in stores are not actually soaps, but detergent bars? True soap is a combination of oils and an alkali such as sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, commonly known as lye. Don't let that scare you, there is absolutely NO lye in the finished product. Despite popular belief, there is simply no such thing as real soap that was not made using lye - not even clear "glycerin soaps". Additionally, handcrafted soap is typically made without detergents, foaming agents, preservatives, pthalates or petroleum products making it a great choice for your skin.
It's Gentle!
Glycerin is a natural by-product of the soap making process. Most commercial soap manufacturers remove and resell the glycerin to other industries. Handcrafted soap retains it's glycerin resulting in a product that gently cleanses without stripping skin of it's natural oils.
